2026 Thunder Season

Welcome to the 2026 Thunder Fastpitch Season!

We are excited to start preparing for the new ball season. If you are new to our club, we can accommodate your athlete at all age levels. Registration links will be coming soon, so please stay tuned!

The categories for 2025 are as follows:

U9 = 2017, 2018, 2019

U11 = 2015, 2016

U13 = 2013, 2014

U15 = 2011, 2012

U17 = 2009, 2010

U19 = 2007, 2008

All of our non house league teams take part in the Calgary Minor Softball Association league which plays at various diamonds in Calgary and surrounding areas. However, it is common for our U11 Competitive team to focus on development and tournament play to minimize travel commitments. This will be decided on a team by team basis.

Costs

U11 Competitive & up - Registration costs include evaluations, umpires, diamond fees, personalized jersey, visor, entry to one tournament, Provincials, as well as all CMSA and Softball Alberta fees. Additional tournaments or apparel are decided by each team - some choose to do a cash call or fundraise separately.

U9/U11 House League players are part of a mini-league with play on 2 nights/week between Strathmore, Chestermere and as of 2025, Langdon! There will also be a jamboree to wrap up the season in mid-June. They will receive a t-shirt as part of their registration.

The Strathmore Thunder is a competitive & development softball program for female youth ages 19 and under. The goals of the program are to develop individual skills of young female athletes while stressing the values of hard work, team play, and sportsmanship. The Thunder will provide volunteer coaches who will emphasize the teams' mission, help guide its athletes to become outstanding teammates and citizens of the community. All to create fun & life long lasting memories.
